The Idea of Drawing with Your Body

The Dancing Drawing Robot was created to help people feel more comfortable about their bodies, about their movements — about being weird sometimes ;)

Some people love expressing themselves while dancing; some people do it while drawing. We thought, why don't we combine those two and create something fun?

To control the robot, try to recreate the given poses. The robot can move from left to right and has two arms that can rotate 180 degrees.

Poses As a Controller

We trained a neural network to classify 10 poses to control the robot.

Classified Poses

The model was trained on the following 10 poses using 6 people with different heights.

1. Move right
2. Move left
3. Draw with one pen to the right
4. Draw with one pen to the left
5. Draw with another pen to the right
6. Draw with another pen to the left
7. Draw with both pens to the left
8. Draw with both pens to the right
9. Move right and draw with the previous mode
10. Move left and draw with previous mode
